I Can’t See!

My son Andrew came to me last year and told me his friend at school got glasses. “That’s nice,” I said. The next week he came to me and told me another friend at school also got glasses. “That’s nice,“ I said. The next week he asked me to go to the eye doctor because he had trouble seeing far away. “Okay, I will make an appointment,” I answered. I thought no way! He just wants glasses like his friends. Week after week, for about three months, he asked when his eye doctor appointment was; and week after week I answered, “soon.” Finally, I told his dad to take him to his eye doctor and get this over with. I was positive he didn’t need glasses! But, being the great mom that I am, I was wrong and did not listen to one of my kids about something serious. The doctor said he was almost blind and could not see much of anything far away. What?! I thought he could see just fine! Shitty mom on me!
