My guess is that would be true for all narcissistic humans (we all know some, don’t we?). It seems that one of my teenage daughters has a bit of this particular character flaw. She decided to crash a performance at her performing arts school and sing and dance on stage with the cast. “What, Mom? Everyone thought it was funny. What’s the big deal?” Result: SUSPENSION! Not so funny now, is it? Why is it that teenagers do things without realizing there are consequences to their actions? My husband thinks it’s because they feel entitled. Or they’re spoiled. Or not held accountable. I think they are just plain stupid! Many doctors have mentioned that the reasoning comes from the different parts of the brain. That teens’ brains are not fully developed until age 25 (hopefully, by age 25, they’re still not living at home and they can get into as much shit as they want). I have read several books and articles about birth order. It has repeatedly been said that the second child are found to be the troublemakers, have a higher rate of delinquency, and have a higher percentage of getting - wait for it . . . SUSPENDED!!! You guessed it; this daughter is my second born. It all makes so much sense now. I can relieve myself of any guilt as a bad parent and chalk it up to her being the second born. Whew! What a relief!
